This could be used for collective bargaining with manufacturers to buy products at actual wholesale prices (as opposed to the 'wholesale' at places like Sam's Club).
If it is successful, I predict Wal-Mart will adopt the model and start putting pressure on its human customers in a similar way it does its business customers (who 'buy' floor space from them).
